Editorial & Corrections Policy
Sources and historical claims
Official announcements, company documentation, archived original pages, and contemporary reporting are useful evidence for a service’s history. References supplied for a memorial appear in its Sources section. A link provides context for checking a claim; it does not imply endorsement of the linked website.
Some entries do not yet include supporting links. We label that gap rather than presenting those entries as independently verified. When sources disagree, a correction should explain the difference and identify which version it supports.
Launch and shutdown dates
A product can have several endings: a regional closure, a rebrand, a sale, or the end of a particular version. The timeline and shutdown explanation should clarify which event the memorial describes. A year range is a summary, not a claim that every version had the same lifespan.
Updates and corrections
The “Entry updated” date is the date the archive record last changed. It is not a new shutdown date or a claim that an editor reverified every statement. Dates are not refreshed simply because someone visits a page.
To suggest a correction, contact the project with the memorial’s URL, the statement in question, your proposed correction, and a supporting source. Keep personal account information and passwords out of your message.
Community contributions
Memories are personal recollections contributed by visitors. They may be subjective or incomplete and are kept separate from the historical description. Flowers express remembrance; they are not product ratings or evidence of accuracy.
Independence
WebAfterlife is an independent archive. Logos, names, and screenshots identify the services being discussed and do not imply a partnership with their owners. Advertisement spaces are labeled separately from archive content.
