Privacy & Tracking

Accounts and public contributions

Accounts support signing in, leaving flowers, and posting memories. Submitted memories and usernames can be visible to other visitors. Do not post private information in a memory. Contact us with account or content questions.

Traffic and performance measurement

WebAfterlife includes Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure site traffic and performance. Hosting services also process requests needed to deliver the site.

Google Analytics and advertising choices

Google Analytics and Google AdSense are optional. Analytics measures archive visits; advertising can use cookies and share data with Google for ad measurement and personalization. Both start disabled for all visitors. Use the cookie notice to accept, reject, or choose each purpose separately. Essential account and security features do not depend on this choice.

We use basic Google Consent Mode. The Analytics library loads only after you allow analytics, and AdSense loads only after you allow advertising. Your choices control analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising data sharing, and ad personalization. Google services may receive information such as page addresses, browser details and your IP address when enabled. See how Google uses information from partner sites.

You can change or withdraw permission using Cookie preferences in the footer. Withdrawing analytics permission disables future Google Analytics measurement, and withdrawing advertising permission removes the site’s ad placements. We also remove accessible first-party Google measurement cookies for the purposes you decline. This does not erase data already received by Google or remove cookies stored on Google’s own domains.

Optional Meta tracking

When a Meta Pixel is configured, you can allow or decline its page-view tracking using the controls in the footer. No Meta pixel request is made before you opt in. You can disable it there at any time for future page views.

The pixel sends Meta the public page address and information available with the request, such as your IP address and browser information. This integration does not send search terms, account pages, comment text, email addresses, or URL query parameters. Meta may process the request according to its own privacy policy. Disabling the pixel stops future requests from this integration; it does not erase data already received by Meta.

Your browser preferences

Google and Meta choices are saved separately in this browser’s local storage. Clearing browser storage resets those choices. If storage is unavailable, Google choices apply only to the current page visit. Account sessions and security features operate separately from optional marketing tracking.
