What Was It?

Mixer chased low-latency game streaming with a colorful interface and ambitious creator deals.

A live stream combined a broadcast with a roomful of reactions. Mixer belonged to that social side of watching games, where the creator's personality and the audience's presence could matter as much as what happened on screen. Returning viewers built routines around particular channels.

The end of a streaming platform affects those gathering places as well as its technology. A creator may continue elsewhere, but moving does not automatically carry across the exact community, familiar interface, and habits that had grown around an existing channel.
