What Was It?
Windows Live Spaces was a personal corner for blog posts, photo modules, guestbook-style comments, and profiles.
A page could combine longer writing with pictures, comments, and profile information. That made Spaces feel like a personal corner rather than only a succession of short updates, giving visitors several ways to encounter the person maintaining it.
Its closure belongs to the history of hosted personal publishing. Moving posts to another service can preserve the writing, but the original arrangement of modules, visitor interactions, and social connections is a separate part of the experience that people remember.
