What Was It?
"The Duck Song" is a children's song by American musician Bryant Oden, built on an old joke. A duck walks up to a man's lemonade stand and asks if he has any grapes. He does not, and the duck keeps coming back, until the exasperated man threatens to glue him to a tree. The next day, the duck asks if he has any glue.
Oden first posted it as a lyric video in January 2009. On March 23, 2009, Forrest Whaley, a 14-year-old known online as forrestfire101, uploaded an animated video he had drawn in Microsoft Paint, and the song took off.
Oden released it as a single that April and on his first children's album later in the year. He and Whaley went on to make four sequels, the last in 2024.
