What Was It?
Simon's Cat is a series of short, hand-drawn cartoons by British animator Simon Tofield about a hungry white cat and the creative schemes he uses to get his owner to feed him. Tofield, who worked at the London studio Tandem Films, made the first film as a way of teaching himself to animate in Adobe Flash.
That film, "Cat Man Do", premiered on March 4, 2008. In it, the cat goes to extreme measures to get Simon out of bed so he will make the cat's breakfast. It won Best Comedy at the British Animation Awards 2008. Tofield based the cat mainly on Hugh, one of his four cats, and voices the films himself.
The series grew into books published in 26 countries, games and more than a hundred episodes.
