What Was It?

Tillman was an English bulldog from Oxnard, California, who rode a skateboard all by himself. He was born in 2005, and his owner Ron Davis said he showed an early interest in skateboarding, even though Davis could never get him to do ordinary tricks like rolling over.

Tillman became famous in 2007, when Davis posted a YouTube video of him skateboarding. Later videos showed him riding on sidewalks, down stairs and on snow, and even surfing. On July 30, 2009, he set the Guinness World Record for the fastest 100 metres on a skateboard by a dog.

He appeared in an iPhone commercial, on the TV show Greatest American Dog and on the Natural Balance float at the Rose Parade. Tillman died in October 2015 at the age of 10.
