What Was It?

Ultimate Dog Tease is a short comedy clip by Halifax comedian Andrew Grantham, who adds voice-overs to videos of pets for his YouTube channel Talking Animals. In just over a minute, a German shepherd named Clarke, given a dubbed-in voice, reacts woefully as he hears about meat he does not get to eat.

Uploaded on May 1, 2011, it became one of the biggest YouTube hits of the year. YouTube named it the most-watched video of 2011 in Britain, and it came second only to Rebecca Black's "Friday" on its lists for Canada and the world.

A YouTube spokesman credited its clever writing, amusing voices and skilful editing. Guinness World Records later listed it as the most-viewed dog video on YouTube.
