What Was It?

Trollface is a crudely drawn face with a huge, mischievous grin, used to represent internet trolls and the satisfaction of a successful wind-up. Carlos Ramirez, then an 18-year-old student, drew it in Microsoft Paint on September 19, 2008, and posted it on DeviantArt.

It became one of the oldest and most widely known rage comic faces, pasted onto forum posts, comics and T-shirts, usually with the word "Problem?"

Ramirez later registered its copyright and earned money from licensing it, an unusual ending for a face drawn in Paint.
