What Was It?
In "Evolution of Dance", motivational speaker Judson Laipply moves through decades of popular dance in one continuous medley on a dark stage, from Elvis and the twist to the robot, the Macarena and the chicken dance.
Uploaded to YouTube on April 6, 2006, it became the most-viewed video on the site and held that title over three separate periods between 2006 and 2009. For a few weeks Laipply's channel was the most subscribed on YouTube.
It belongs to the first wave of YouTube hits that made people realise anyone with a camera could reach millions, and it was shown in schools, offices and family living rooms around the world.
