What Was It?
Potter Puppet Pals is a Harry Potter parody by Neil Cicierega. It began as a pair of Flash cartoons on Newgrounds in 2003 and returned on YouTube in 2006 as a live-action puppet show, with puppets made by Cicierega's mother.
Its best-known episode, "The Mysterious Ticking Noise", was released on March 23, 2007. Snape hears a ticking sound with a catchy rhythm and starts singing his own name to it. Dumbledore, Ron, Hermione and Harry join in, until Ron finds that the ticking is a bomb. After it goes off, Voldemort is left to sing his name alone to the tune of "Lollipop".
The video won the Comedy category at the 2008 YouTube Awards and became one of the most-viewed videos on the site.
