What Was It?

"Pork and Beans" is a 2008 single by Weezer from their self-titled Red Album. Rivers Cuomo wrote it after Geffen executives told the band to record more commercial material, and it spent eleven weeks at number one on Billboard's Modern Rock chart.

Its music video, directed by Mathew Cullen of Motion Theory and first released on YouTube on May 23, 2008, is a tribute to the YouTube stars of the day. Gary Brolsma, Tay Zonday, Judson Laipply, Liam Kyle Sullivan, Fritz Grobe and Stephen Voltz with their Diet Coke and Mentos fountains, and many more appear alongside the band, while memes from the Dramatic Chipmunk to "Will It Blend?" are recreated.

It was YouTube's most-watched video in its first week and won the Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video.
