What Was It?
Chad Vader: Day Shift Manager is a Star Wars parody web series by Aaron Yonda and Matt Sloan. Chad, in a black helmet and life support suit, runs the day shift at the Empire Market grocery store, dealing with customers, coworkers and shoplifters with the manners of a Sith lord. Yonda plays Chad and Sloan provides the voice, and Chad hints that he is Darth Vader's younger, less successful brother.
The idea came from Yonda's friend, comedian Tim Harmston. The series began on Channel 101, which dropped it after two episodes, but Yonda and Sloan kept going and found a big audience on YouTube. It was filmed at the Willy Street Co-op in Madison, Wisconsin.
Clips aired on Good Morning America in October 2006, and in 2007 George Lucas chose it for the George Lucas Selects award at the Official Star Wars Fan Film Awards.
