What Was It?
"White & Nerdy" is a song by "Weird Al" Yankovic from his 2006 album "Straight Outta Lynwood", a parody of "Ridin'" by Chamillionaire and Krayzie Bone. The narrator wants to roll with the gangstas but can't, because he is just too white and nerdy.
The video, shot in high definition, is packed with nerd culture, from a comic book store to a Trivial Pursuit card and a scene of Wikipedia vandalism. Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele play gangsters, Seth Green appears in front of a wall of action figures, and Donny Osmond dances with Yankovic.
It leaked to YouTube on September 17, 2006, a day before its planned AOL premiere. The song became Yankovic's first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 9, 23 years after his first appearance on the chart.
