What Was It?
Fred Figglehorn is a hyperactive six-year-old character created and played by Lucas Cruikshank. Fred talks straight to the camera about his life, his crush Judy and the neighborhood bully Kevin, in a high-pitched voice made by speeding up the footage. He never gets older, and he is always in kindergarten.
Cruikshank first played Fred in a video uploaded on October 30, 2006, to JKL Productions, a channel he shared with his cousins. In 2008 Fred got his own channel, and "Fred on May Day" became the series' first official video on May 1. By April 2009 the channel was the first on YouTube with more than one million subscribers.
Nickelodeon followed with an iCarly crossover, three Fred films and a TV series, Fred: The Show.
