What Was It?

Will It Blend? is a web series of infomercials in which Blendtec founder Tom Dickson tries to blend things that should never go in a blender, from marbles and golf balls to remote controls and the latest gadgets. Each episode opens with "Will it blend? That is the question" and usually ends with an on-screen caption declaring that yes, it blends.

Marketing manager George Wright came up with the idea, and the first videos went up on Blendtec's website in November 2006 before spreading on YouTube. The iPhone episode on this page is one of the best known; Australia's The Gruen Transfer named it Ad of the Week.

Dickson took the act to television too. He blended a rake handle on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and the campaign won a Clio Award and was nominated for a YouTube Award.
